The First Branding of the Season

Our first branding was a BIG one!  I'm serious!
The cowboy crew showed up bright and early.

They branded all 24 of the bottle babies!

One cowboy said, "Dang I've had bottle calves all of my life, but never had enough to have a branding!" lol
I will say the boys have worked hard this year with their bottle babies.

This crew of cowboys are pretty awesome!
They actually had another branding, but they stopped by early to help the boys work their calves.

Mimi was here and I'm kicking myself now for not taking her picture with the boys.

See Mimi came and helped me out for a couple days.... she cleaned my fridge and that was HUGE! lol
Anyway, I'm halfway done with chemo... been dealing with some allergic reactions which is super aggravating but all in all I'm doing great.  I'm tired but not too tired to go to a branding at take pictures!

Yep y'all guessed it, there are many more branding pictures to come!
We've had 3 brandings in a week, and don't worry I took 967 pictures!

Miss Remi

I promised pictures of Pake's new puppy!  This is Remi.
Remi Sue Adams

She is cute and adorable and precious and playful and cuddly and everything you would love in a puppy.
Seriously!  I am so in love with her and so is Pake and Tate baby talks to her.

She does sleep alot thank goodness.  She goes ninety to nothing and then just crashes out.
So cute, so fun and I'm babysitting because Pake went to Splash with a friend.

The Drags

I'm sure it's no surprise that we love drag racing!  We spent Memorial Day weekend at the drags in Amarillo.  It was a fun little get away and the boys loved it!

Pake of course is now going to build his own car etc.. etc... lol

Pake made buddies with this guy from Dalhart.

My favorite part is the burn out!

Danny at the start line with Miss Gayle.

\
Gayle is my friend Barb's sister.  It's really fun when you have someone to root for!

Pake's friend won both Saturday and Sunday's race and he even got a picture with the crew.
Speaking of getting something.... He got something else too...  can you guess what?  Well let's just say Gayle raised it and it's 4 legged and furry and just happened to be at the drags too.
Her name is Remi and she's a lab... pictures coming soon!

Bald is Beautiful

I have these two friends.... they're crazy!  Well they're just..... let's say, free spirits!
They got a wild hair... a wild hair... sometimes I crack myself up!
Anyway, they decided since I lost most of my hair and shaved my head...
that they would shave their heads too!

There's only one Newt but we love him!  Note: he left his a mohawk for a little while!

And Miss Barb is really brave letting Newt shave her head!

Bald is beautiful!

I thought I would be totally scary bald but I surprised myself, it's not as bad as I thought.
I'm truly thankful for some comic relief and these two crazy fun friends.

The Smith's Ranch Visit

The Smith's got to visit us out at the ranch last weekend!

So glad they got to see where we hang out!

Aren't my niece and nephew the cutest?

These guys are pretty cute too!  But they stink.... just saying! lol

Speaking of these guys... they're crazy! They climbed this crazy narrow steep plateau... well actually I'm not even sure I would call it a plateau.... I got a picture and a video!  Note:  they did not ask permission.  Note: I am still mad!  Note:  I actually did not cuss them out, but I'm still thinking about it... not really!  Well maybe!

I have a video but I'm having trouble loading it....

ANYWAY....

Tori and I went for a little hike that over looks camp.

Great view! Then we hiked on down and then....
well I slid and then my ankle caught and well....

it ain't pretty and I ain't one bit happy about it =/

But KDawg cooked us a burger.   He's a pretty good guy, most of the time....
btw we celebrated 20 years of being hitched this week.  Yes 20!
Might as well keep him after all this time, I've just about got him trained now....

Birthday Weekend

The boys had birthdays again... wow they're now 14 and 11!  I haven't figured out how that happened but evidently it did.  I'm very disappointed in myself as I only got one picture and Pake's not even in it.
Anyway, here's a few of the punks... they had a water balloon fight.  There were lots of wet stinky boys at my house, but I love them anyway.

Then, on Sunday afternoon the boys did some yard work for me!

They pulled out the t-post around some trees.

They're such good little workers.  Work hard, play hard!
Hope y'all are enjoying the spring time as much as we are!

BTW I had my first chemo, I'm 2 days out and feeling really well (fingers crossed)

The "C" Word Update

I decided to update my journey with the "C" word.  I had a 2nd surgery after my lumpectomy.  The margins were a little close on one side, so they wanted to take a little more to make sure they got it all.  I just got the results back today that there was no cancer in the pathology from my 2nd surgery. Yipeee!! I was super glad to get positive news.  My chemo will probably start on May 7th.  I had really been hoping for no chemo, but fortunately I only have 4 treatments 3 weeks apart. Then I will have 7 weeks of radiation 5 days a week.  The way I figure it I will have chemo May 7th, May 28th, June 18th, and July 9th.  Then, I will have radiation July 22nd - September 6th.  The dates may not all work out exactly that way, but at least now I sorta have a timeline and I sorta know what the future holds. Ever since I was diagnosed, I have just wanted to do what I had to get rid of it.  I wanted it done, over with, period, but it doesn't exactly go that way.  I went through waiting for this appointment, waiting for this blood test result, waiting for that test result, waiting for my next surgery, waiting on those results and so on.  I just felt like I was going to go crazy not knowing and not being able to plan (I think God might have been working on my patience lol).     I feel very fortunate that they caught it early and I'm on the road to being done with this!  I know it could be WAAY worse.  I have been through every emotion from sad, to mad, to feeling sorry for myself, to not wanting to see people, etc... However, I am determined to carry on with my regular life.... this is NOT going to get me down.   My prayers are with all those ladies out there going through the same battle.  I'm thankful for my husband, boys, family and friends.  They have all been so supportive and caring during this time.  Now, I just have to go wig shopping LOL!

The BEAST

We got a new piece of farm equipment... really!   It's very useful on the farm for building fence, changing sprinkler flats, chasing cows, hauling stuff, the possibilities are endless.

I call it the BEAST!  It's also very useful at the ranch!

It's great on long trail rides.

It climbs big rocks!

It also hauls kids!  Ok, ok while the new ranger is a great asset on the farm,
it's also a toy and I know we are going to have lots of fun with it!

We had crew down at the ranch last Sunday afternoon.

I had to include this cute couple... my nephew and his sweet thang.

The crew on top of rooster head rock... thanks Barb for taking the picture!

Target practice.

I was hiking along and saw a rock come flying through the plateau...
the kids were on the other side.... I love this rock with a hole in it!

Some punks beside the rock with a hole it it!

KD and Cracker across the way!

Auodad... we came up on a herd.

KD sliding down through the famous "crack."  Everyone had to climb up the crack...
except for me... I've gotten smarter!

Miss Meg made it up and down the crack... she's cool like that!

Here's the crew making the hike down from the crack.

Then we had a picnic under the bridge.
We had a "BEAST" day at the ranch!
